This unusual book of prayers is the product of many years of studying and praying the psalms. Fr Kevin Lyon was intrigued from the beginning by the Semitic tone of these prayers, which Jesus used in his daily communion with his Father. They also, he observed, seemed to cover the full gamut of yearnings of every Christian - joy and sorrow, the need for guidance, help in times of trial, expressions of anger, of love and of thanksgiving.
