A student of Clementi, the Irish composer John Field was especially known for his nocturnes and the influence of these musical mood pieces on the works of Frederic Chopin. This Kalmus Classic Edition offers the advanced pianist 18 of Field's elegant nocturnes including Nocturne No. 5 in B-Flat, the most popular of Field's nocturnes.

The three nocturnes in this collection were selected because they are technically the easiest to play, and they should be quite accessible to most late-intermediate students.
