This series of books including, Buddhist Existential Poetry from Myanmar and Experiencing Myanmar, was inspired by the poetry of Aye Maunng. He was born in Burma in 1930 and started writing poetry when aged about 60.
His poetry presents a narrative of Burman life from Independence, the nearby Communist Revolution in China, the long period of isolation and to more recent events.
