In quantum mechanical calculation of the transport phenomena, the major problem is the evaluation of the phase shifts. The formulae for the cross-section in Bose-Einstein statistics and in Fermi-Dirac statistics which are needed in the calculation of the transport co-efficient, are given in terms of phase shifts.
