Ritter's novel, Behind Closed Doors, tells the story of Theo Williams, a principled young man who is ascending the corporate ladder in Los Angeles. During a vacation in Chicago, he is introduced to a community of people whose private affairs contradict their public personas. Theo's introduction to "the lifestyle" is intriguing, but morally conflicting. Worse, he meets an attractive woman, Stephanie, with whom he begins to have feelings.
