The scholarship of Shakyamuni Buddha's lifetime of teachings spans over 27 centuries and several countries, cultures and languages. In this time, many local, regional, and cultural stories and traditions have crept into the teachings and distorted or completely contradicted the intent and meanings of the various teachings and texts. Bodhisattva Nichiren follows a longstanding effort of true scholarship to redress these erroneous incursions into the clarity and direct experience of Shakyamuni's teachings and intent. This reference is created to address some of the most egregious errors in our modern practice continually promoted as "true" while completely contradictory or utter nonsense in the scholarship of Shakyamuni's ultimate teachings of the Lotus Sutra and as clarified by our modern mentor Bodhisattva Nichiren.
