Esser 'poteva capace relativamente allo sta to delle cognizioni d'allora e questa scienza rimasta forse sarebbe alcun tempo stazionaria, se il caso non richiamava l' attenzione de' Fisici verso una classe di fenomeni per la massima parte fin allora'inosservati, e che inerti d' altronde ed in fecondi sarebbero restati, se veduti si fossero pri ma che il Volta portasse tanta luce nell'elettriche teorie, e tanta esattezza nell' eseguire gli esperi.
