»The Concept of Freedom Propounded by Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Martin Heidegger«

The main purpose of this study is the question of how the concept of human freedom can be viewed phenomenologically as a basic problem of philosophy. This challenge leads us to the crux of Heidegger's philosophy. Heidegger's concept of freedom is, however, realised by the way of a fundamental dispute with the great occidental thinkers. Leibniz likewise establishes his own concept of freedom with respect to a wide range of traditional answers and enables us to relate the question of freedom to present-day problems caused by neuroscience.
