INTRODUCTION
A paradigm shift is taking place in the way the world is viewing energy production. For
the first time in history the energy policy of the world is being dictated by
environmental concerns more so than financial concerns Quirke, [2009]. Global
warming and the idea that human beings are the root cause of this sudden onset of
global temperature rise is creating a lot of concern for the way energy is converted and
used.
