1942, Domingo Zárate, a.k.a. the Christ of Elqui, a homeless that
believes he is the embodiment of Christ, has been preaching by Chile.
One day he finds out about a prostitute that worships la Virgen del
Carmen called Magdalena Mercado. Then Domingo sets out to find her in
order to talk her into following him in his holy mission: to warn the
world about the end of the world.
