Jackie Morris is an award-winning artist and writer who received the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal in 2019. Her many beloved books include Tell Me a Dragon and The Snow Leopard.
For this book, Morris has teamed up again with Alison O'Toole, designer of The Lost Words, Morris's collaboration with Robert Macfarlane, which was a Sunday Times bestseller, won the Beautiful Book Award 2017 and was shortlisted for the Wainwright nature writing prize in 2018.
The book itself is an exquisite object, complete with head and tail bands, a ribbon, decorated endpapers and foiled linen boards beneath the dust jacket.
It is a natural successor to Morris's The Unwinding, also designed by O'Toole, which has sold over 10k copies across all editions and saw Morris nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal again in 2021.
