Landscape is the dominant motif in Herbert Brandl's oeuvre. Ranging from objectivity to abstraction, his works oscillate between recognizable subjects and purely sensual impressions of color and form. Brandl's art unfolds during the painting process: swift, intuitive, with great physical effort, without preplanned, targeted methods.
