The great Turkish novelist Ahmet Altan comments poignantly on his current situation incarcerated by the Erdogan regime, discussing hope, despair and the powerful role literature can play. A petition was recently signed by 51 Nobel Laureates calling for Altan and his brother Mehmet's release.
