After McGuire was diagnosed with Stage III non-Hodgkins lymphoma, she used medical treatment, alternative healing resources, and personal and community spiritual practices, to achieve recovery. During this time, her husband suffered a stroke as she completed treatment, and her journey included his care and recovery.
