What part does tradition and traditional values play in the lives of indigenous peoples in today''s society? This book contains case studies from two Mohawk communities in present-day United States and Canada, with focus on a language immersion school at the Akwesanse reservation and an off-reservation settlement in the Mohawk Valley. Both function as arenas for the preservation and development of language and culture for future generations.
