This book describes why OEHSprofessionals should develop leading measures and then providestools theseprofessionals need to develop leading safety measures in theirownorganizations. The existing problems with trailing safety measuresdescribedwill enable safety professionals to articulate the measurementissues relatedto these indicators with upper management in their organizations.Definitionsand examples of leading measures, consistent with informationprovided byreputable associations and standards organizations, such as theAmericanNational Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American IndustrialHygieneAssociation (AIHA) are provided.
