India is a country with multifaceted cultures and varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Globalization and liberalization policies are benefiting those persons in the society who are socio-economically better off. In the wake of the current hegemonic circumstances, it is generally acknowledged that social development needs are to be directed at the marginalised section of the society. One of the most visible and complex problems and voiceless and part of weaker sections is street children. The present books outcome of empirical study conducted for the doctoral work on the life situations, life problems and life chances of these children operating in the city of Gulbarga.
