Sensory training which has been loudly praised as a part of the new method and has been referred to as the natural and legitimate application of Wundtian psychology, is certainly very far from the teachings of Wundt and his followers. The virtues of the Montessori system, or at least most of them, can be matched by equally efficient devices in American schools without the intro duction of the elaborate paraphernalia which is now regarded by some as necessary to the system as it comes from Italy.
