Most education systems and programmes in countries receiving Refugee families are designed for the mainstream community. Owing to their pre and post resettlement experiences, as well language and cultural barriers, mainstream programmes often do not meet the educational and social needs of refugee children and their families. This book examines these challenges and discusses how obstacles to education can be best addressed through a collaborative approach that values the contributions made by all parties.
