Brentwood, Los Angeles, 1995: Senator Trevor Garry is killed in the middle of night by an intruder. Young journalist Amanda Ryan is assigned to cover the case, but she is inexperienced and her drive gets her deeper into a world where lies rule and corruption is business as usual.
