The Spiritual Metabolism is a book about receiving the grace that God has for us through surrender. 2 Chronicles 7:14 lays out a promise that if we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and repent, God will hear us, forgive us and heal our land. This is a promise based upon what God requires of us. These four things: humble, pray, seek and repent, are not works of will or strength. If they were, God's mercy would be limited to only those who could acheive it. These are works of surrender! There isn't a person alive who is incapable of surrendering. Just like eating, breathing and moving keeps our metabolism going, surrender to the will and strength of God keeps our hearts alive. This is the spiritual metabolism!
