A robed figure sat before a crystal, watching its many facets. The crystal was roughly two spans in diameter, the figure leaned forward and stared into the brilliant light emanating from the stone. Each facet bore a different image, creating an indistinct chiaroscuro of moving subjects. Gnarled hands emerged from long, flowing sleeves and grasped the crystal ball. Fingers coiled around the smooth surface of the metal and turned it slightly clockwise.
